Howdy! I'm Brandy Shigemoto—a passionate Design Leader and determined problem solver. I have a track record of transforming complex challenges into seamless experiences.

Most recently, I had the privilege of building and leading a talented design team at DISCO, an AI-driven legal technology and services company.

My journey has also included working with companies like H-E-B Digital, Meta (Facebook), Covered California, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, Schlumberger, and Bumble.

I’m passionate about building teams of talented designers and fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
‍
My approach is grounded on:

đź‘‚

Lead by listening
I believe that leadership begins with openness—listening and creating space for the best ideas to emerge. Humility allows me to listen, learn, and adapt, fostering an environment where team members feel heard and valued.

🧭

Empower through purpose
People are at their best when they feel seen, valued, and connected to something larger than themselves. I’m committed to breaking down barriers, clarifying the purpose of our work, and aligning our efforts towards a shared vision that’s both meaningful and motivating.

🎉

Make work engaging
Work should be a place where people can bring their whole selves, feel energized, and engage in fulfilling relationships. By fostering a culture of connection and respect, I aim to build an environment where work isn’t just productive—it’s a place where people genuinely look forward to showing up each day.

🌱

Promote growth and development
Real growth happens when people feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and learning quickly. It’s important to me to create psychologically safe spaces where everyone can express their ideas, provide feedback, and challenge the status quo without fear.

Build trust through transparency
Trust is built through small, consistent acts of honesty. I’ve found that openly sharing the “why” behind decisions, challenges, and changes ultimately strengthens a collective commitment to shared goals.
